The Start of Something New: Tanzania Edition

This post features student writing.

Monday, July 9th

Mambo from Maji Moto! After an exciting weekend of waterfalls and baby bunnies, the group got back to work. Instead of spackling cement and lifting cinder blocks, we started something new! We started our interactive service with the kids of Maji Moto, teaching English and painting classrooms. In the morning, we headed to Maji Moto Primary where our group split into three different classrooms with varying ages. We taught things like the meaning of ¨used to¨ and how to properly write a letter. After teaching, we headed back to our compound to have lunch and relax. Two hours later, we walked back over to the school for painting. Our groups split to tackle painting two classrooms and the headmaster´s office. That took up most of our afternoon and by the end, we were covered in splattered white and blue paint – a sign of our hard work. Throughout the day, we hung out and played with the kids. Today was an energetic and positive start to our new projects!!
