Today we went on another one of our exciting weekend excursions; this time on a hike around Duluti lake near Mount Meru. The whole scene was breathtaking as we walked around the perimeter of the lake through the lush rainforest, surrounded by exotic birds, ancient trees and, you guessed it, monkeys (two species)! It felt good for all of the students to experience the simplicity of raw nature as we walked through the forest in near silence, absorbing the sounds of only the chirping birds and our feet on the beaten path.
After that, we spent the rest of the day at Le Patio, a fun outdoor restaurant full of good food, electricity, and WiFi. I think it’s safe to say that Saturday was yet another successful day here in Tanzania.
